Claude V. Boller, long in business in Freeport until his retirement several years ago, died last Thursday of a heart ailment in his home 180 Whaley st. Christian Science services were conducted in the Chester A Fulton & Son parlors. Saturday afternoon with cremation following at Fresh Pond.
Mr. Boller was born in Lexington, Ill., 82 years ago and had lived in Freeport more than 40 years. He was associated in the men's clothing business with various houses before going into business at 70 South Grove st. He was a buyer for Kenyon & Co. and other firms and established the men's wear department of the Montgomery Ward company. About 25 years ago he decided to go into business for himself and opened a tailor shop on South Grove st., which he managed. For years he was an enthusiastic yachtsmen, serving 20 years as secretary of the South Shore of which he was a life member. His wife, Katherine Boller died four years ago. Surviving are a son, Claude V. jr.; four daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Flood, Mrs. El Brockner, Mrs. Geraldine Fry, and Mrs. Audrey Cunningham; a sister; Miss Caroline E. Boller and eleven grandchildren.
